Keeping Motivated Part 1

It’s the start of day 6 of the diet and so far so good.  I’ve been on plan, i’m still motivated and i’m hoping for a decent loss when I weigh in on Monday morning.  As you may or may not know, I lost nearly 2 stone on Slimming World a couple of years ago.  Since then, i’ve managed to put pretty much all of it back on but i’ve decided it’s now time for me to finally lose this weight (and keep it off) once and for all.

Right now i’m feeling motivated to shift this weight, but the negative part of me in the back of my mind is worried that this determination just won’t last.  It’s happened before, i’ve started a diet with the best intentions and 2 weeks in have just given up and gone back to being a pig and so this time i’m preempting this happening.  I’ve done some research on keeping motivated and while a lot of it either didn’t apply to me personally or just didn’t seem realistic there was a few things that made sense, here’s what i’ve taken from my research and what I think will work for me. Syn Free Sweet Potato Cups


I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought I’d give it a go. I tweaked it slightly as the original used tater tots (I think they’re some kind of American potato type thing?) and I’ve just used good old sweet potato mash.  Anyway they’re super quick and simple to make, I did most of it by eye rather than measuring and they worked out great. Joining a Slimming World Group

This morning I went to join a group, up until now I’ve been doing Slimming World online and as you can probably tell from my lack of posts recently I seem to have lost my motivation completely! In fact I have lost my motivation so much that I’ve managed to put back on 10 pounds!!! That is an absolutely massive gain and i’m so disappointed in myself for letting it this far and not putting a stop to this sooner.  There’s no point in beating myself up over it though and so i’m back on track from tomorrow with no excuses!!

Food Diary (2.4.14) Day 1 / Green Day / Weekly Syns

So after my shock at weighing in 4 pound heavier than my lowest (10st13 now and I was 10st9) I’ve decided I need to change things up. I’ve changed my weigh in day to Wednesday, i’m going to try mostly green days, and I’m trying weekly syns. I hope it all goes well and I hope I can stick to it, wish me luck? Continue reading

I don’t know what’s wrong with me…

I just can’t seem to get myself motivated to get back on track with my diet. I’ve been eating all the wrong foods (cupcakes, ice cream, hot dogs etc) and I just can’t seem to be able to get myself back to eating healthy. 

I weighed myself this morning and I weigh 10st13, that’s 4 pound I’ve put on since my last weigh in, and it also means I’m nearly back up to 11 stone!!!

My bad eating habits need to stop right now and I NEED to get back on track, like yesterday. Does anyone have any tips on how to re – motivate myself?

I did spend last night cooking Quorn Chilli and Quorn Bolegnese so I’ve got my dinners sorted for the next week or so, i’m going to try doing mostly green days as I can have 2 of each healthy extras each day instead of the one on extra easy, and I’m going to try weekly syns so I can have a little extra of a weekend. Hopefully I can get my motivation back so I can hit my target of 10st. Fingers crossed!!
